I recently realized I have a basket dedicated to informational anthologies of noteworthy women. How cool is that?! I love that each are slightly different in focus and the structures are different. Some include poetry and important quotes. Some have a timeline or theme that link each person. They all include additional resources and websites for further research. These are a fresh take on a biography. Rather than a text on one person, choose a theme and focus on individuals who lived that theme. Students need choice and voice in their writing – these texts provide so many options for them to try.
