Slice of Life: Channeling Elsa in the Calm Before the Storm #SOL20 #TWTBlog

Who’s going to be what now when?

This is literally what emerged from my mouth as I began to skim the text messages that accumulated on my phone while I was working.

I hear Jack L is coming home!

How’s Jack?

Is he home yet?

Do you need to fully move him out?

Are you going up there to get him?

Is his semester over?

Is he bringing home friends who can’t get home?

He must be bummed.

Questions flood my brain as I try to center myself in the moment.  I breathe and set the GPS.  I breathe and choose my Fleetwood Mac playlist.  I put my phone on silent mode and decide to just let it all go for the next twenty-five minutes.  I open the windows, turn up the volume and let all the unknowns wash over me, knowing it will all be waiting for me when I get home.

Good thing it is March, I laugh to myself, there will be lots of slices coming my way in the next few days.

Thank you, Betsy, Beth, Marina, Kathleen, Kelsey, Lanny, Melanie, and Stacey for hosting this weekly forum and the March Challenge. Check out the writers, readers, and teachers here.
